Meddiebempsters Prepare for Winter Tour 2008

The Mid-Atlantic Awaits New England A Cappella

The Meddiebempsters are taking their boys and lyrical vocals to the Mid-Atlantic this year for their winter tour. The Meddies will be in the middle of the Atlantic coastal states from January 4th to January 12th, 2008.

To start things off properly, the Meddies will commence their tour by gathering at a Bowdoin Club of Philadelphia event at the Merion Cricket Club in Haverford, PA. It is the extreme pleasure of the Meddies to be the guests of the Bowdoin Club for their event, and will be performing a thirty minutes of their music to lighten the hearts of all in attendance.

Next, the 'bempsters will move onto New York City, where a reunion with former Meddies will take place. They will sing with their Meddie brothers in arms for other Bowdoin alumni and colleagues in New York City over the first weekend in January. It may be of no surprise that the young men of Bowdoin will hope to enjoy the sights of the Big Apple as well during their time in New York.

After hitting the city, Bowdoin's oldest a cappella group will travel back to the Philadelphia area and sing a concert on January 7th at 7:30PM at Meddie Dave Yee's (Class of '09) Downingtown High School.

Then, the tour will take it's most exciting turn towards... central Pennsylvania. The Meddies will continue their efforts to spread a cappella to the high school community by performing at Selinsgrove Area High School on January 8th, and Meddie Mike Krohn's (class of '09) High School in Lewisburg on January 9th. Although it hasn't been scheduled yet, it is possible that the Meddies will get to travel to, and sing at, the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon.

Lastly, the Meddies will finish their tour by heading south toward the nation's Capital. On the 10th, Meddie Louis Weeks will be hosting the men of Bowdoin at his High School in Baltimore Maryland. After singing to the last High School the Meddies will sing at for the tour, they will enjoy the museums and landscapes of Washington D.C. on the 11th of January.

The Meddies tour will conclude with a performance at Georgetown University with Superfood, one of the premier co-ed a cappella groups down in Geogetown.

The Meddiebempsters is the third oldest a cappella group in the United States, and are consistently working to spread their joy of music around the world to people of all ages. Please contact Michael Krohn at mkrohn@bowdoin.edu for more information about their Winter Tour performances.
