Three New Meddies!

The Meddies held auditions last week, the first week after classes began, and had some amazing talent come out to show their stuff to the group.

Meddiebempsters auditions are a rigorous 20-minute process for each candidate, and look to evaluate each prospective member in a number of categories. This year, the process looked at the PreMeddie's musicianship as both a group member as well as in the role of a soloist, his ability to learn music quickly, ability to identify Luke as a stalker, delivery of a joke of his choice, and, perhaps most importantly in the short run, his ability to stroke Kevin's ego.

After three days of auditions, the Meddiebempsters selected Bernardo Guzman, Will Hales, and Jeff Friedlander to be the newest contributors to the long and rich history of the Meddiebempsters.

Bernardo Guzman, a freshman hailing from Monterey, Mexico, is most known on campus for being senior Monica Guzman's little brother. This led some to believe that he was picked only because some Meddies wanted to become better friends with his sister, but we insist that this is indeed not the case. He will, however, be cutting his hair soon. The Meddies are additionally happy to be able to diversify the group by adding a member of the Latin persuasion.

Freshman Will Hales comes to Bowdoin via New Orleans, and therefore becomes the second member of the Meddiebempster Confederate Caucus, alongside Alec Berryman. While Will will not be cutting his hair like Bernardo, he may be cutting Bernardo's hair-- and THAT could be something worth seeing.

Like Bernardo, Freshman Jeff Friedlander has a sibling at Bowdoin, but few suspect that we're looking to get closer to his brother, Junior Dave Friedlander. He has no reason to cut his hair, and his vocal percussion contributions may be able to get him out of too much trouble with Charlie... or not.

You can e-mail the new members and greet them to the group in your own special way by e-mailing their first name at meddiebempsters.com.

Congratulations to these guys and thanks to everyone else who came out this year!
